Payment for Anesthesia Care of Cardiac Surgical Patients

Federal reimbursement systems are very complex. Congress requires reimbursements to be budget neutral. This article describes some of the problems encountered when seeking federal reimbursement for cardiac surgical procedures and defines what can be done to improve payments for anesthesia care.
